PRIVACY NOTICE
At Deque, we take your privacy seriously. It's important to understand the protections in place for both you and your organization.
The main Deque Privacy Policy covers most privacy-related topics. This document covers privacy issues specific to axe Assistant.
Chat History Log
By default, axe Assistant logs your conversations for your convenience, so that you can return to the conversations later. Your anonymous prompts and responses may also be reviewed by Deque testers for quality assurance, to ensure axe Assistant is providing relevant and accurate responses to user questions.
Deque will NOT share your chat history with third party organizations.
The information you submit through axe Assistant will NOT be used directly as training data for Deque's AI models, though Deque may use your prompt to identify gaps in the Deque University knowledge base. In other words, if you ask a question that axe Assistant cannot answer, we may decide to write content on that topic to fill that knowledge gap.
Chat Log Privacy Enhancements Coming Soon
Deque is in the process of creating features to allow you to choose whether to allow the chat history log to be used for quality review purposes, to be able to delete specific conversations, or turn off and delete the chat history log completely. These features are not yet available during the beta testing period.
Your Personal Information
Deque will NOT submit your name, email, or organization affiliation as part of the prompt or context to axe Assistant. Axe Assistant sends only anonymous data to the AI model.
Future enhancements coming soon: To make axe Assistant's responses even more relevant, you will be provided with the option to include anonymous information about yourself in the prompt sent to the AI model. Options will include things like your role (e.g. web developer, designer, writer, etc.), your language preference (e.g. French, Japanese), your level of accessibility expertise, etc. You may decline to send any of this information, and in fact, you will not be required to provide or save this information anywhere. It will be completely voluntary.

Copyrighted Materials
Axe Assistant generates responses based on the copyrighted information inside of Deque University. The responses themselves therefore contain copyrighted information.
Allowed Usage and Restrictions
- You MAY consume axe Assistant's responses for personal use.
- You MAY share or quote specific responses or conversations verbatim, citing axe Assistant and Deque University as the source.
- You MAY NOT claim these responses as your own.
- You MAY NOT republish these responses in derivative works.
- You MAY NOT use these responses to train other AI models, or to interact with other AI models in any way.
LIMITATIONS ON LIABILITY
Although great care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the original source data, Deque does not guarantee the accuracy of either the original source data or the responses from axe Assistant, and cannot be held liable for any consequences resulting from inaccurate axe Assistant responses.
